Prior to becoming an independent consultant, researcher and author, Dr. David Ragland served as an Innovation & Transformation Executive at Salesforce where he was instrumental in helping the firm establish a new organization focused on digital transformation advisory services. Prior to his role at Salesforce he served as Senior Vice President of Technology at Marsh and McLennan, where he facilitated key transformation initiatives designed to modernize technology platforms while simultaneously assisting in optimizing organizational processes. Prior to Marsh, he served as Vice President of Business Transformation Services at AIG in the firm’s Latin American and Caribbean division; where he was instrumental in rolling out key strategic organizational change initiatives in the region.
David has enjoyed an extensive career in consulting where he acted as a key transformational change agent for a variety of multinational firms. He is a firm believer in the power of collaboration, inclusion, diplomacy and human centricity and has witnessed the positive effect of these values in successful firms around the globe. To that end, he strives to adopt these and similar values in all that he undertakes; and endeavors to be a results oriented team member who engenders trust by delivering on commitments.
David graduated from James Madison University, with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a secondary emphasis in Management Information Systems and holds a Master of Science in Information & Telecommunications Systems from Johns Hopkins University, as well as a Doctorate in Business Administration from IE Business School in Madrid, Spain. His doctoral research focused on the impact of leadership style and national culture on performance in global virtual teams; and he continues to conduct and publish research related to the interaction of leadership, culture and digital transformation.
